A leading autism therapy company needed to improve their therapist/child matching system.
Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) is an in-home program where therapists assess current skills and tailor lessons to a child’s needs. Because the greatest success comes when the family is involved with both lesson planning and integration, the therapist must be an optimal match for both the child and the wider care group.
LUR rode along with therapists, observing the relationships formed as well as the digital processes and communications used between therapist and family. We then conducted focus groups with family members and therapists to develop better matchmaking criteria.
Many changes were made to the system, including a new intake process, standardized progress reports and a trial period where therapist/child/family can get to know each other before committing to the relationship.
