A common issue in large corporations is that many people work on user experience, but they work in different departments. This was creating inefficiencies in a fintech company where qualitative researchers and data analysts were often addressing similar problems without realizing it.
The challenge was to create a model for these two groups to regularly collaborate, improving their report writing and storytelling craft. But first, they had to learn some baseline skills: translating statistical data into everyday language, creating compelling visuals, and confidently delivering insights.
Over the 2-day session, there was a lot of self-discovery. Qual researchers learned how to enhance their storytelling, data analysts discovered they enjoy presenting to audiences, and both groups practiced presenting complex data in a clear and engaging way.
The result was that managers felt confident in their team’s insight delivery skills, and team members bonded by learning in a safe and engaging environment.
“The Communicating For Impact session was a game changer for my analytics organization. As I bring my analysts into leadership meetings to share their findings, they are better prepared to use their presentation real estate to craft a compelling story for their audience. They speak with much more confidence and purpose. It’s a very noticeable change, one that will help them in their career progression as consultative analysts and beyond.” Daniel G., Senior Manager, Advice and Wealth Management Analytics
